All our dresses, including Special Order gowns, are made according to each designer’s size chart. Your normal size may vary from the designer’s size. We strongly recommend you review the designer’s size chart to determine the best size to order. The size chart is available with each style.

We ship Worldwide! To place an order outside of Australia and New Zealand please contact a customer service representative at [email protected] with your order and we will provide a shipping quote.

It does not cover any customs or duty charges imposed on the receiver of the package.

We only accept fabric orders in additional to a bridesmaids dress order. Our wedding dress manufacturers do not offer this service.

The minimum amount to order is 1 meter. To place a fabric order, please do so here.

Please be aware that fabric orders are not cut at the same time as the dress order and may be cut from a different bolt of material, which can result in dye lot variation.

Swatch cards are available for viewing at our Roadshow events, or can be purchased online here.

Please note that colors can appear differently on-site since computer monitors do vary. We strongly suggest purchasing a swatch card or visiting us at a Roadshow event before selecting your colour choice.

Christobelle’s does not carry samples of every style displayed on our website. We do however have a collection of 80 gowns that will be available for viewing and trying on at our Roadshow events. If a product is available at the Roadshow the product description will say “Available at Roadshow”.

You will need to attend one of our Roadshow events in your area. We strongly suggest viewing the gown before ordering since all sales are final and cannot be cancelled.

Our designers offer a Rush service for orders that have been placed in a time frame that falls short of their standard production schedule. Rush does not imply that an order will be “rushed” into production ahead of other orders. Rush means, if time permits and the fabric of a particular style is available, our manufacturer will cut the order. Delivery for Rush orders is approximately 5 – 10 weeks dependent on the manufacturer’s schedule. The fee for the Rush service is $500 and is added to your total price. The fee covers additional designer fees along with expatiated shipping.

Special order gowns are made according to each order we receive from a customer and submit to the designer. We do not keep special order gowns in stock. Likewise, designers also do not stock special order gowns. Special order gowns normally take 16 – 20  weeks for delivery from the designer to our location.

Special order gowns cannot be returned or refunded. We will of course replace a gown in the rare instance it is faulty.

 

 

Bust: Measure around your chest, at the fullest point of the bust (not under the bust).

Waist: While standing up straight, bend at the waist to one side. The crease that forms is where your natural waist is located; measure there.

Hip: Standing with your feet together, measure around the fullest part of the hips. 

Hollow-to-Hem Measurement (Length) 

Your hollow-to-hem measurement is determined by measuring from the center of your collarbone (hollow) to the bottom (hem) of your dress. We highly recommend that you have a professional perform this measurement.

 It’s very important that you wear shoes with a similar heel height to those you will be wearing with your gown, and you will also need to take into consideration the fullness of your gown’s skirt. For example, if your gown is an A-line with a full skirt, you will need to move the measuring tape away from the body to ensure that your gown will be the correct length.

Most dresses come in a standard hollow-to-hem measurement, based on the size of the dress, which varies from designer to designer.

We will do our best to get you into as many gowns as we can until you find the right one. Usually you will be able to try on 5 – 6 gowns during your appointment.

It pays to do your homework and bring along the names of our dresses that you like, or show us some Pinterest pictures on your phone so we can narrow down your style and move on to the fun part quick smart!

 

 

We carry a wide range of sizes in our sample range so we can tailor to girls of all shapes and sizes. 

As our gowns are all European they go from a size 36 – 50. Roughly speaking this equates to a size range of 4 – 20.

We always urge girls not to get hung up on numbers and instead focus on fit. European dresses tend to run small so don;t panic if you end up wearing a size you didn’t expect.

We have plenty of shoes (heels and flats) and undergarments for you to use when you try on gowns so you don’t need to bring anything along. Of course if you have something a little sentimental like your mum’s brooch or nana’s pearls  then definitely bring them along so we can tie the whole look together.

Whilst spray tans make us all look amazing please don’t get one right before you come to visit us, more of your tan will end up on our samples than staying on you…. However do put a little bit of makeup on and do your hair in the way you think you’ll wear it on the big day – that way you can visualize how you’ll look on your big day.

Most of all we ask you to bring an open mind – especially if you are trying on gowns for the 1st time. You never know hat suits you until you start trying, so go with the flow and enjoy yourself.

Also don’t be nervous, trying on gowns isn’t as hard as it may seem – we are here to help you! We promise you will have tonnes of fun!

One last thing – don’t be scared if you fall in love with a gown. Just like your fiance – when you find the one, you’ll know!

Every bride is special to us and you deserve our undivided attention. A private consultation gives you one-on-one time with a highly trained bridal stylist so we can make sure you get the very best service.  Your stylist will work with you to find a dream gown that fits your vision and compliments your body shape and colourings.

Plus, we are often fully booked weeks in advance so best to book an appointment and avoid disappointment. 

All sales are final and cannot be cancelled at the point of purchase. Due to the special nature of our merchandise, we cannot accommodate exchanges or refunds under any circumstances. In addition, our manufacturers are unable to cancel or make any changes or modifications to any order once it has been placed. Please be sure of the style, size, color, and any other specifications before submitting your order. Also, standardized dye lots cannot be guaranteed for orders with multiple gown styles.

All merchandise must be inspected immediately.  If there is a defect in the merchandise the customer must contact Christobelle’s within 5 days of receiving the merchandise.  Christobelle’s must verify the defect or damage and then will order you a replacement.  Any dress altered or changed prior to the inspection will not be allowed for return and replacement.

Every effort has been made to ensure the product colours shown on the website are as close as possible to the actual colours however different computer screens may show slight variations. If you are unsure about the colour of any garment, please contact us before purchasing.

Christobelle’s does not offer an alterations service.

We do however work in conjunction with seamstresses across New Zealand who we love and trust with altering your gown. These lovely ladies will do any fittings you require and any personal touches or tweaks to your gown to make it uniquely yours!

Any alterations done to your gown are at your expense and are in addition to the cost of gown paid to Christobelle’s.

The prices displayed on our site are correct at the time of display. However we reserve the right to alter prices from time to time without notice. Accepted orders will be charged the price at the time of ordering.

We make every effort to maintain prices but these may be subject to variations caused by factors beyond our control.

The prices displayed are inclusive of GST at the current standard rate of 15%. GST is charged on all sales to customers.

All goods advertised for sale on our site are subject to availability. If an item is unavailable you will be informed by e-mail or by telephone.

We will not charge you for goods that we are unable to supply, however we will not be responsible for any damage or losses that you may suffer if we fail to supply goods.

All our dresses are made to order, so delivery can take 16 to 20 weeks for delivery.

Your dress is delivered to us directly from the designer and we perform a thorough quality control check on each gown. Once we are satisfied the gown is perfect we will ship the gown to you via Fastways Courier. Courier takes 2 – 5 days and is fully tracked and insured.

We will courier your Bridal gown anywhere in New Zealand for free! All other order dresses and accessories incur a $20 courier and insurance fee.

Once your order has been fully paid we will order your gown from the manufacturers at the beginning of the following month.  Gowns can take up to 4 months to manufacture and ship to New Zealand but we will be able to provide you with a more specific delivery time 2 weeks after your order is made.

As all our gowns are off the rack, which means they come in standard sizes and are not made to measure. Therefore you should expecte that your gown will require some alterations.  We advise you to arrange a visit to you local seamstress who will guide you through the fitting process.

We recommend you put aside $200 – $500 for standard alterations.

Papilio gowns come in standard European sizes from 32 – 50, and our bridesmaids dresses come in American size 6 – 20W.

On every product page you will find the relevant size chart from which to choose your correct size. It is important to get your measurements taken accurately and choose your size according to your largest measurement.

Compare your bust, waist, and hip measurements to the designer’s size chart. It’s very important that you order the largest size that corresponds to your measurements.

For example, if your measurements are as follows:

  • Your bust fits a size 44
  • Your waist fits a size 42
  • Your hips fits a size 40

We would advise that you order a size 44 and get the dress altered down to custom fit your body. Ordering the size that fits your largest measurement will ensure that your dress has the most flattering fit possible. 

Wedding apparel is typically sized differently than retail clothing, so it’s not uncommon to find yourself requiring wedding apparel one or more sizes larger than your normal dress size.

Please not we do not offer returns or refunds if you order the wrong size. As each dress is made to order we are unable to offer this service.

When we opened Christobelle’s we decided not to have a traditional retail store so we could keep prices down on the gowns. Instead we  formed a partnership with Millennium Hotels and Resorts so we can bring everything to you!

We run over 20 roadshow events every year across New Zealand where you can view and try on our gowns free of charge. It’s just like any other bridal shop – only we move every week!

Whilst shipping normally takes up to 4 months, we can on some occasions arrange a rush order. These is an additional $500 fee to cover international courier charges.

We recommend you order your gown 6 months out from your wedding day.

Our gowns take 4 months to arrive after being ordered and fully paid.  This is because every gown is made to order and as they come all the way from Belarus, Europe, shipping can take up to 3 weeks.

Plus, almost all gowns require some tailoring so we recommend you allow 4 – 6 weeks for this process.

No. We sell off the rack gowns which means that we will order the gown in the size closest to your actual measurements.

During your consultation we will take your measurements and show you the Papilio size chart. Together we will work out what size is the best to order for you.
